The people who
own the standard
Conroy is led by two directors. Construction has been the business of this family since long before the company existed, and that depth of experience informs how it is run today — and where it is going.
Thirty-five years of building,
delivering, and standing over the work
Martin Conroy founded Conroy in 1991 and has led the business through every phase of the Irish construction market since — growth, recession, recovery, and the current cycle. He has built, managed, and commercially closed projects across every procurement route and every scale of work the Irish market produces. The supply chain relationships, client trust, and commercial reputation Conroy operates on today were built by Martin over three decades of sustained delivery.
"The standard is the standard. It does not change because the contract is smaller or the client is less experienced."
As Chairman, Martin provides strategic oversight and maintains the client and supply chain relationships that are the foundation of the business. His role in Conroy's repositioning toward technical sectors is to ensure that the credibility, commercial stability, and delivery culture built over thirty-five years carries forward intact.
Technical leadership.
Delivery accountability.
James Conroy is responsible for delivery across all five of Conroy's sectors. He leads pre-construction, directs project delivery, and carries personal accountability for outcomes on every project the business undertakes. He is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), with a background spanning site management, project management, and contracts management on large-scale projects across Ireland and the UK.
James's background is in the operational detail of how major projects are planned and delivered. That experience informed the decision to build Conroy as a general contractor and construction manager delivering across five sectors — industrial, logistics & manufacturing, commercial, pharmaceutical, critical environments, and interiors — and it underpins the pre-construction discipline, project controls framework, and BIM capability the business now operates.
"The director who leads a project in pre-construction is the same person who delivers it to practical completion. That continuity is what our clients value."
James is directly involved in every project from pre-construction through procurement, delivery, and handover — and is a primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners throughout.
Five principles. Both directors hold themselves to the same standard.
These govern how Conroy takes on work and delivers projects. Every project team is directly selected and supervised by one of the two directors — with continuity of leadership from appointment through to practical completion.
