CONROY is pleased to announce the appointment of James Conroy MCIOB as Director of the company, effective immediately. James assumes responsibility for pre-construction and project delivery across all five of the company's sectors.
The appointment marks the next stage in the development of a business founded in 1991 by Martin Conroy, who continues in his role as Founder and Chairman. Under this structure, Martin retains strategic oversight while James leads the company's day-to-day commercial direction, client relationships, and delivery operations.
Background
James brings approximately nine years of experience in large-scale commercial and complex construction, having worked across a range of demanding projects before joining the family business. He is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), reflecting a commitment to professional standards that runs through every aspect of how CONROY operates.
His focus since joining the business has been on building the operational infrastructure required to deliver in technically demanding environments — from ISO-aligned health & safety and quality management systems, to digital delivery capability and structured pre-construction processes.
Strategic direction
Under James's leadership, CONROY delivers across five sectors: industrial, logistics & manufacturing, commercial, pharmaceutical, critical environments, and interiors. Each of these sectors demands a contractor that understands not just how to build, but how to build within demanding, complex, and programme-critical environments.
This business has always been built on personal accountability and technical competence. My role now is to make sure those values scale — that as we grow, the standard of delivery and the level of director involvement that clients expect from CONROY only gets stronger.
The company operates a design & build delivery model across all sectors, offering clients single-point accountability from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. This approach — combined with robust management systems and a lean, senior-led team structure — positions CONROY to compete on capability rather than scale alone.
Looking ahead
CONROY's immediate focus is on the Irish market, with the industrial & logistics sector as a primary area of growth. The company has also outlined plans for UK market entry in the medium term, building on the regulatory and delivery frameworks already established.
James added: "We are building something with real substance behind it — the systems, the governance, the technical depth. The appointment formalises what has been underway for some time, and I'm looking forward to taking the business into its next chapter."
